Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1- Exercise practical application of major models of transition and have constructed a personal model for future transitions 2- Know the factors that impact the development of self-esteem, assertiveness, and attitudes of perseverance in the face of obstacles. 3- Utilize healthy strategies of dealing well with anxiety, depression, grief and anger during and after major transitions. 4- Apply the six stages of healthy relationship development to personal, academic and professional settings 5- Recognize the seven elements of an enduring life philosophy and understand its goal-setting uses. 6- Use theoretical models of self-concept, authentic, false and shadow selves to deal effectively with difficult individuals.
