SP 223 - Forensics
Associated Term: Spring 2014
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Demonstrate familiarity with intercollegiate forensics tournament formant, rules, and ethics. 2. Recognize the essential features of all intercollegiate forensic events. 3. Participate in two forensic events at every tournament applicable, choosing from one or more of the following categories: platform speaking or oral interpretation. 4. Participate in NPDA-style debate at every tournament applicable. 5. Demonstrate effective speech organization skills. 6. Demonstrate the ability to analyze and critique the speeches and performances of other team members, as well as the pursuits of those in the academic track. 7. Demonstrate the ability to prepare for and host a public event, discussion, and showcase 8. Consistently attend class, tournaments, and participate in team event. 9. Demonstrate familiarity with intercollegiate forensics tournament format, rules, and ethics. 10. Recognize the essential features of all intercollegiate forensic events 11. Create and deliver one major speech fitting the guidelines of one intercollegiate forensic event 12. Demonstrate effective speech organization skills. 13. Demonstrate the ability to prepare for and host a public event, discussion, and showcase 14. Consistently attend class and team events.
