Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Analyze the forma dn structure of a piece of music techniques of chromatic harmony, Renaissance 2-part polyphony, and two-part 18th century inventions. 2. Write two-part and four-part counterpoint, including ornamentation. 3. Compose music using specific compositional devices form 16th, 18th, and 19th centuries. 4. Demonstrate practical keyboarding skills: 5. Play primary chord progressions in all major and minor keys. 6. Transpose major and minor melodies at sight. 7. Harmonize major and minor melodies, using primary chords. 8. Realize a lead sheet, using primary chords. 9. Sight read simple piano literature. Required Materials: Technical Requirements: |
