Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Through observation, dialogue, reflection and theory-based knowledge (of constructivist and emergent philosophy), create and facilitate learning environments for young children. 2. Demonstrate an awareness of daily routines in a developmentally appropriate child-care center. 3. Demonstrate an understanding of the need for children to experience smooth transition periods. 4. Demonstrate effective guidance methods with young children. 5. Demonstrate effective group skills for both small and large groups of children. 6.
