Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the successful student should be able to: 1. Use and understand the principles of simple machines; sound, fluid, and heat dynamics; basic aerodynamics; aircraft structures; and theory of flight. Level 2 2. Exercise mechanic privileges within the limitations prescribed by FAR Part 65. Level 3 3. Identify and select appropriate nondestructive testing methods. Level 1 4. Perform dye penetrant, eddy current, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle inspections. Level 2 5. Perform basic heat-treating processes. Level 1 6. Identify and select aircraft hardware and materials. Level 3 7. Inspect and check welds. Level 3 8. Perform precision measurements. Level 3 9. Use aircraft drawings, symbols, and system schematics. Level 2 10. Draw sketches of repairs and alterations.
