RT 114 - Fundamentals of Respiratory Care
Associated Term: Winter 2014
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Appropriately apply techniques of medical asepsis, sterile technique and infection control to protect self and others 2. Utilize correct body mechanics and patient positioning to safely and effectively provide patient care. 3. Understand requirements of proper documentation of care, and effectively communicate as a member of the health care team. 4. Understand responsibilities when giving medications and safely prepare medication for administration 5. Understand and respond appropriately to institutional safety concerns 6. Effectively support patient ventilation with manual resuscitation bag-mask unit and properly use simple devices to maintain open airway.
