Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Define and explain the purpose of a medical report 2. Use proper punctuation marks accurately, given unpunctuated copy 3. Capitalize words accurately given lower case copy 4. Prepare accurately typed material containing numbers, symbols, and abbreviations commonly found in medical writing 5. Paragraph properly and place a letter attractively on a page 6. Correctly spell a list of 50 medical and non-medical terms with 95% accuracy 7. Know of basic information to be found in chart notes and the style in which that information should be arranged 8. Ability to prepare a history and physical using a variety of acceptable styles 9. Prepare a discharge summary, operative report, pathology report, radiology report, consultation report, autopsy protocol, and medicolegal report Required Materials: Technical Requirements: |
