CPSY 195 - Introduction to Addictive Behavior
Associated Term: Fall 2013
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Define and identify the characteristics of addiction 2. Develop an understanding of addictive and poly-addictive behavior 3. Develop an understanding of etiologies, purposes, meanings, and goals, of addictive behaviors 4. Develop a cross cultural understanding of the processes of prevention of and recovery from addiction 5. Begin an awareness of how people, organizations, structures, policy, and practices, promote addictions in society 6. Be familiar with prevention and treatment resources in Lane County 7. Be aware of and utilize culturally appropriate self-care technology
