Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, student should be able to: 1. Identify the aesthetic of Central African and/or Afro-Brazilian dance. 2. Demonstrate and understand a basic level of the physical skills of Congolese and/or Afro-Brazilian dance. 3. Develop an understanding of rhythm and polyrythms. 4. Learn different styles of African singing and the cultural context of various songs. 5. Learn how to dance “together” an learn what it means to energetically support one another.
