Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Be familiar with and demonstrate the operation of a modern hotel property management system. 2. Be familiar with and demonstrate the operation of a restaurant point of sale (POS) system. 3. Understand E-commerce and website attributes and design for a hospitality firm. 4. Understand hotel global distribution systems. 5. Explore tools that help industry professionals manage customer activity. 6. Know the basics of data mining and the concept of databases for marketing. 7. Understand the use of market share in marketing strategy and business development.
