REGISTRATION TIPS:

   - Make sure you click Submit Changes to save your adds and drops.
   - Scroll down after you have submitted your changes to verify that your changes were saved or to view any errors in registration.
   - Use links at bottom to go to Student Schedule and View Account Summary by Term to see your schedule and charges.
   - DO NOT use your browser BACK button to navigate or your changes may be lost! Use RETURN TO REGISTRATION MENU or other myLane links (in blue).
   - You will not be allowed to register if there are holds on your record preventing registration, if you are not in good academic standing, or if you have not completed all admission requirements. Go to Registration Status on the Registration menu for more information.

To Add a Class:
Go to the Add Classes Worksheet section. Enter the CRNs in the boxes provided on the worksheet for the classes you want. You can find the CRNs for classes in the Class Schedule. When you are finished entering CRNs in the worksheet, click Submit Changes. If you are unsure of which classes you want, or want to search for an open section, click Class Search and you will be taken to another page that has a class search form.

To Drop a Class:
Go to the Current Schedule section of the page. Drop a class by selecting the drop option in the Action pull-down list next to the class you want to drop.

   - If the Action list says 'Drop With Refund', it is still within the time frame in which you will not be charged for the class.
   - If the Action list says 'Drop NO refund' you will still be responsible for any charges related to the class.

Click Submit Changes when you are finished selecting the classes you want to drop.

Note: You cannot drop a class once it has been graded.

Variable Credits:
Some classes offer variable credits and you will need to decide how many credits you want to earn in the class. If you want to register for a variable credit class there are two steps:

1. Follow the procedure to add a class. You will automatically be registered for the lowest number of credits offered.
2. If you want to earn more than the number of credits automatically entered, you must select Change Class Options on the Registration Menu. Follow directions on that page for changing the number of credits.

For example, if you register for a class that has a range of credits from 2 to 5, you will automatically be registered for 2 credits. If you want to change the number of credits use the Change Class Options on the Registration Menu.

The deadline for variable credit changes is Friday of the last week of classes. Faculty will not make a change in the number of credits at the point of grading and will grade according to the number of credits listed.

Waitlisting:
Not all classes will have a wait list available. For classes that do have a wait list, myLane will allow enrollment until the class is full. After that, students who try to register for the class will get one of two registration error messages:

1. CLOSED ### WAITLISTED. Students may add their name to the wait list by selecting Wait Listed in the Action Box and clicking on Submit Changes.
2. OPEN ### WAITLISTED. If spaces in that class have become available, but there are already students on the waitlist, you will get this registration error message. Again, you may add your name to the wait list by changing the Action Box to Wait Listed and clicking on Submit Changes.

Students who are on a class wait list will not be automatically registered into open spots in a class. Students on the wait list will not be assessed tuition and fees until they officially register for the class.

When on a waitlist, attend the first day of class. The instructor will determine which students can register for the class. These students must be released by the department to register for the waitlisted class. After you receive a release to register, you must login to myLane at http://www.lanecc.edu and add the class.

Learning Communities:
In Learning Community classes students enroll in two or more classes together, creating a common cohort or "community." Faculty also work together, often attending the different classes too. Your learning experiences are enhanced by this sense of community and common understanding across disciplines. When registering for classes that are part of a Learning Community you must register for all the classes at the same time. For example, if registering for BioBonds, enter the CRNs for both CH 112 and BI 112 on the same worksheet screen, then click Submit Changes.
