Identify specific developmental stages and issues as related to the newborn. 2. Identify developmental characteristics and developmental needs of infants and toddlers in the areas of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and language development. 3. Define technical terms related to infant and toddler development. 4. Select proper care techniques for infants and toddlers at different developmental levels. Safety, health, sleep, feeding and toilet training issues are discussed. 5. Describe parent/caregiver roles in caring for and nurturing infants and toddlers.
