WLD 216 - Fabrication/Weld 5 |
Understanding materials used in, and skills necessary for,
the fabrication of metal products. Instruction and practice
in fabrication techniques and the programming of shape
cutting and press break, including concepts in the material
science and the gas tungsten arc welding of stainless steels
and aluminum alloys. Metallurgical considerations in the
welding of carbon and HSLA steels is also studied. These
skills and concepts are mostly learned producing actual
metal products, some of which may be marketed. This course
develops those skills taught in Fabrication/Welding 1, 2, 3
and 4. Under certain circumstances, the class may be taken
as an introductory course.
