GS 142 - Earth Science: Earth Revealed |
Earth Revealed is an introductory geology course. The topics
presented include the earth's history, plate tectonics,
rock types, minerals, volcanism, earthquake activity,
weathering, rivers, groundwater, glaciers, and coastal
landforms. The theme of living with the earth emphasizing
the preservation of resources is woven throughout the
course. The course documents evidence of geologic principals
at geographically diverse sites. A fourth credit may be
earned by doing laboratory exercises designed for completion
at home. Available through Distance Learning Summer, Fall,
Winter terms.
