G 202 - Earth's Surface Systems
This course centers on the dynamic processes that sculpt the Earth's surface. These processes include weathering and erosion, sediment deposition by water, wind, ice, and mass-wasting. The course emphasizes a process view of landscape change and builds students' understanding of depositional systems. Lab work includes an overview of rocks and minerals, using aerial photos and topographic maps to identify landforms and understand landscapes, using geologic maps, and some environmental applications. See additional information about this geology sequence under the course description for G 201.
