G 103 - Evolving Earth
This course surveys the history of the Earth throughout geologic time. Sedimentation, sedimentary environments, fossils and fossilization are discussed along with the geologic history of North America. Lab work typically includes recognizing fossils, interpreting age relationships and stratigraphy, and using geologic maps and cross-sections as tools to interpret Earth history. It is strongly recommended that either G 101 or G 102 be completed prior to taking this course. See additional information about this sequence of geology courses in description for G 101.
