Women Make Movies focuses on women directors throughout the
world and the contribution they have made and are making to
the medium, its art and aesthetics. It introduces students
to the historical/economic contexts of film production.
Readings in feminist scholarship as it discusses issues of
class, race, and gender will accompany the international
films selected from the silent period to the present.
