ENGR 211 - Statics |
Principles of statics of particles and rigid bodies are
studied with a vectorial approach. Particular attention will
be given to the composition, resolution and equilibrium of
coplanar and non-coplanar force systems; two dimensional
trusses and frames; centroids and moments of inertia of
plane areas; coulombic friction; and the distribution of
shear and bending moments in simple beams. A programmable
graphics calculator comparable to the TI-83+ or TI-89 is
recommended.
