D 257 - Dance Improvisation
This course is an exploration of spontaneous dance movement based on selected criteria or structures. The investigation will be based on elements of dance such as weight, time, space, form, and intent. The focus will include solo and interactive or group explorations. Choreographic devices will be introduced throughout improv structures. The intention is to free up the creative abilities when inventing new dance material. Class is repeatable up to 12 credits.
