CG 213 - Improv Parent/Child Relations |
"Real life" in-home interactions between parents and
children and segments of interviews in which a counselor
discusses with parents the application of principles and
skills for improving relationships. Videotaped situations
focus on establishing creditability as a parent, improving
communication, setting reasonable and consistent limits,
stimulating independence and responsibility, and improving
order, structure, and routine. Approaches to typical
problems are illustrated (e.g. fighting, crying, whining,
conflict among siblings, bedtime). Reading and writing
assignments supplement videotapes.
