Prerequisite: Within the past for terms completed MTH 095 or equivalent course with a grade of "C-" or better, or pass a placement test through the Testing Office. MTH 097 is strongly recommended. Course includes a survey of mathematical topics for those interested in the presentation of mathematics at the K-9 levels. A variety of manipulative and heuristic problem solving strategies are used. Emphasis is on problem solving, patterns, sequences, set theory, an introduction to logic, numeration systems, number bases, arithmetic operations with whole numbers and integers, and number theory.
