This course explores Balinese Dance in relation to art, spirituality, and daily life. Students learn traditional dances, their cultural and historical significance, and their importance in contemporary Balinese life. Globalization and Western cultural influences will be addressed. No prior dance experience necessary. Contents and expected learning proficiences of this course vary from term to term. May be repeated up to 12 total credits.
