CH 222 - General Chemistry 2
Associated Term: Fall 2023
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. interpret, communicate, and analyze data and error to demonstrate understanding of basic chemical concepts and reactions
2. apply unit analysis problem solving techniques or mathematical formulas, individually and in groups, with provided or data students collect in lab, to solve unit conversion, stoichiometry, solution, kinetic and equilibrium questions
3. use the vocabulary of chemistry to explain, discuss and solve problems about molecules and ions, atomic structure and periodicity, bonding, behavior and property of liquids, solids and solutions, kinetics and equilibrium
4. use and describe real life situations as examples to demonstrate and explain key chemical concepts
5. assess the strengths and weaknesses of different theories of bonding including valence bond theory and molecular orbital theory and apply each theory appropriately
