Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Create and analyze projects that demonstrate critical and creative thinking, utilizing perceptual and conceptual aspects of painting 2. Demonstrate technical proficiency using a variety of acrylic painting media 3. Demonstrate proficiency in the use and development of technical, aesthetic and compositional elements of painting 4. Demonstrate proficiency in the use and identification of color elements, systems and relationships 5. Demonstrate proficiency in analyzing paintings verbally, or in writing, related to specific painting media, theory and vocabulary 6. Explore and demonstrate individual expressive, aesthetic and/or conceptual choices in painting projects 7. Explore conceptual painting skills and work with specific thematic ideas 8.
