BT 163 - QuickBooks
Associated Term: Winter 2018
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Demonstrate the ability to convert files to QuickBooks and develop a chart of accounts from scratch 2. Reconcile checking accounts and integrate QuickBooks with Online banking features 3. Design and utilize QuickBooks as a tool to efficiently meet an organizations tax compliance responsibilities 4. Demonstrate proficiency in and the ability to analyze and record business transactions via business forms, the general journal, and registers 5. Demonstrate proficiency in editing, deleting, voiding, and verifying transactions 6. Demonstrate proficiency in applying QuickMath and Windows Calculators to forms, registers, and the general journal 7. Create and edit Chart of Accounts, Customer Lists, Vendor List, Item List, Employee List, and Payroll Items 8. Purchase and manage inventory and track back orders 9. Generate and analyze Financial Statements, Reports, and Graphs 10. Demonstrate knowledge of accounting for cash 11. Apply with proficiency the complete accounting cycle to both a service and merchandising business 12. Set up and process payroll, including the generating of payroll reports 13. Apply QuickBooks for job estimating, time tracking, and progress invoicing 14. Customize forms and reports with adding your company’s logo to your forms 15. Apply on-line accounting for banking and payroll 16. Manage your business with Business Centers 17. Integrate QuickBooks with MS Excel and MS Word 18. Demonstrate the ability to convert a manual set of books to QuickBooks 19. Be able utilize QuickBooks software to create budgets and forecasts 20. Demonstrate knowledge of the functionality of the financial statement designer, business planner and fixed asset manager tools provided in QuickBooks 21. Be able to set passwords, closing dates and utilized appropriate reports to create adequate internal control processes in QuickBooks
