Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will: 1. Apply sociological concepts and theory to analyze contemporary social problems 2. Demonstrate awareness of problems experienced by diverse social groups in the U.S. and globally 3. Identify social causes of problems in societies, or social factors that contribute to those problems 4. Recognize the value of social science research for understanding the causes of social problems and for developing responses to those problems 5.
