Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Sing all three forms of minor scales ascending and descending using solfeggio and accompanying hand signs maintaining key and tempo 2. Sing arpeggiated i, iv, and V chords in harmonic minor mode within one octave using solgeggio and accompanying hand signs. 3. Conduct and count 2,3, and 4 beat groupings in compound meter. 4. Identify intervals triads, tonal relationships within minor mode at a minimum of 75% accuracy. 5. Sound out and sing short melodies in a, d, e, and c minor which employ simple or compound meters of two, three, and four beat groupings, maintaining key center and tempo, with a minimum of 75% accuracy in pitch and rhythm. 6. Count and perform four measure rhythmic patterns in compound meters, at a moderate tempo, that include ties and note (or rest) values from a dotted-half to a sixteenth note in duration, maintaining tempo, with a minimum of 75% accuracy. 7. Notate dictated simple rhythmic patterns with a dotted quarter note beat value up to four beats in length employing note and rest values from a sixteenth note to a whole note in duration at a minimum of 75% accuracy. 8. Notate dictated minor melodies (all forms) in compound meters of four bars, employing values from a sixteenth note (and rest) to a dotted-half note (and rest) in duration, upon five hearings with 50% accuracy. 9. Identify major, minor, augmented and diminished triads at a minimum of 75% accuracy. 10. Identify major, dominant, minor, half-diminished, and diminished seventh chords at a minimum of 50% accuracy. 11. Tap an exercise from Level 30 of the Tap Master Series at a minimum of 95% accuracy.
