FR 151 - First-Year French
Associated Term: Spring 2014
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Talk about descriptions, habits and ongoing actions in the past. 2. Express wishes and polite requests. 3. Express various forms of negation. 4. Use pronouns to make speech more efficient 5. Say what and whom he/she knows. 6. Emphasize and clarify 7. Express everyday and reciprocal actions using pronominal verbs. 8. Use double object pronouns to speak succinctly. 9. Talk about the past using pronominal verbs. 10. Make comparisons using both adjectives and adverbs. 11. Talk about the future 12. Link ideas using relative pronouns. 13. Get information by asking questions. 14. Be polite and speculate by using the conditional. 15. Express attitudes and points of view 16. Express wishes, necessity, emotion, and possibilities. 17. Express doubt and uncertainty. 18. Talk about quantity 19. Become familiar with Francophone cultures.
