ED 126 - Tutor Certification - Advanced
Associated Term: Spring 2014
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Identify the problem a student is having with the specific subject material, using the Socratic method. 2. Develop skills for enhanced communication with the student, other tutors and in general. 3. Identify one's own stereotyping behavior and learn ways to avoid it. 4. Define white privilege and describe its impact on Lane students and in society. 5. Evaluate improved listening and communication skills. 6. Identify the inner voices that direct your actions. 7. List Howard Gardner's 8 multiple intelligences, and identify which ones relate to your personal learning style. 8. Evaluate the difference between a right-brain learner and a left-brain learner, and identify yourself. 9. Collectively solve current problems identified by tutors.
