CIS 102 - Problem Solving with Computers
Associated Term: Winter 2014
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Be more consciously aware of the thought processes they use in everyday life to identify and solve problems 2. Be able to describe and use common problem solving methods (heuristics) 3. Apply an understanding of how to organize information to the identification and solving of problems 4. Apply an understanding of the role of effective communications in identifying and solving problems 5. Understand the kinds of problems information technology professionals need to solve 6. Be able to use spreadsheet software effectively to present and analyze information and solve problems 7. Be able to use drawing software effectively to present information and solve problems 8. Apply spreadsheet and drawing software to problems in their potential areas of interest in the information technology profession
